The Opportunity

Nolwazi Projects is offering a specialised opportunity for an experienced Structural Draughting Specialist to join our Field Operations division.

This is a hands-on technical role for a precise, detail-focused individual who can measure, map, and draft accurate “as-built” technical drawings of heavy-duty warehouse racking structures.

You will travel to industrial and warehouse sites to capture physical measurements, assess structural layouts, and translate site data into accurate technical drawings that support our inspection, engineering, and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Measurements: Deploy to client warehouses and industrial sites to conduct accurate physical measurements of existing racking systems.
  • Technical Draughting: Draft detailed “as-built” drawings of complex structural steel and warehouse racking environments.
  • Structural Accuracy: Work closely with the Principal Technical Lead and field teams to ensure all site dimensions, bracing patterns, and structural tolerances are captured accurately.
  • Operational Support: Translate site information into clear technical drawings that support inspection findings, project planning, and client reporting.
  • Technical Standards: Ensure all draughting work reflects the high-performance culture, precision, and technical rigour of Nolwazi Projects.

Requirements

  • Education: National Senior Certificate (Matric) and a formal, recognised Draughting Qualification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ professional draughting experience, preferably with strong exposure to structural steel, warehouse racking, or mechanical layouts.
  • Language: Must be able to speak and clearly understand both English and Afrikaans to communicate effectively with site management and execution teams.
  • Technical Ability: Strong draughting skills with the ability to interpret, measure, and document complex structural environments accurately.
  • Attention to Detail: Must be precise, methodical, and able to identify and capture critical structural details.
  • Logistics: Must have own reliable transport to commute to the Meyerton base. A company vehicle will be supplied for all site visits and operational deployments.
  • Location: Residing in or immediately around the Meyerton area will be highly beneficial.

How to apply: Please send your comprehensive CV, a portfolio demonstrating relevant technical drawings, and a brief cover letter outlining your structural draughting experience to office@nolwaziprojects.co.za.
