The process sounds simple—just set up the uprights and attach the beams, then place the stock loading on top. In reality, there are countless considerations to ensure the proper functioning and safe building of pallet racking. Both the racking itself and what it will be holding are heavy and Steel Storage Racking is both fragile and robust. Whilst it is able to hold enormous vertical loads, it is not able to withstand a range of horizontal forces including bumps and knocks. Seemingly small impacts can cause catastrophic failures of racking systems.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Always remind the MHE (Material Handling Equipment) Operator, when and where possible, that staying within the confines of the MHE significantly increase their chances of surviving should the racking structure system collapse.
