In addition to the standard terms for the racking layout, there is a range of terms for the type of racking structure.

There are two main types of racking used throughout Australia and New Zealand, Selective Single Racking and Selective Double Deep Racking.

This type of structure is identified by the depth of the pallet racking. That is, single selective racking structures are only one pallet deep from the aisle. and the Double Deep using a specialised forklift are two pallets deep.

The racking systems bracing will also be designed by the Rack Engineer to be fit for purpose. This includes [but is not limited to]frame bracing design patterns that account for lateral(seismic/wind) forces to the racking.
