The Cantilever Racking is comprised of the following components:
- The Base – The base is secured to the floor with a minimum of 2-floorfasteners.
- The Column – The column is fixed to the base.
- The Bracing – Bracing is Horizontal and Diagonal and secures and stabilizes the columns. Two columns supported by the bracing is One Cantilever Bay.
- The Arms – The arms can be of various shapes and can be secured to the column by bolts, welding or friction. The most common method is to secure the arm with an arm pin which in turn is secured with a Welsh clip.

- Cantilever racking DOES NOT fall under the AS4084-1993/2012 Standards. Installations and Inspections are based on ANSI_MH16.3_2016 and SEMA/FEM 10.2.09_ 2016 guidelines.
- Cantilever arm installation is based on a column fixed baseside. Arms should NEVER be placed on the back side of asingle sided cantilever rack.
- Welded and adjustable cantilever require extra consideration where only one (1) or two (2) arms are fitted at height, as this could result in column over-stress.
- SWL is ideally supplied on installation. Engineered steel-welded cantilever will require a qualified engineer to provideany required SWL ratings. Adjustable cantilever SWL ratingsmay be acquired from the manufacturer (if known) oralternatively an engineer.
