About this training
This training is specifically designed to teach individuals who work in and around racking structures how to safely operate within them. The comprehensive program consists of two levels.
You will need to complete both courses to have a good understanding of Racking Structure and the Safety and Management of it:
NAPRSS101 – Introduction to Racking Structures, Safety, and Inspections
NAPRSS102 – Racking Structures Safety Management
The online training follows a structured approached of learn, confirm, and test. Each section is followed by a brief confirmation test that must be successfully completed before progressing to the next module.
Upon completing all the modules, a final confirmation quiz is provided to assess your understanding and retention of the information shared.
Successful completion of the final quiz of both courses will lead to certification for the participant.
What is this module about?
Steel racking structures are designed to maximise the storage of various goods. It is arranged in rows and stacked vertically. It allows for safe and easy access for loading and unloading of goods. This module will give you an overview of racking structures, the safety in and around racking structures, and the importance of inspections on racking structures.
Why is this module important?
Racking Structure is important because even minor damage to a racking structure component can lead to a racking structure failure.
Steel racking structures is engineered to withstand downward (vertical) forces. Consequently, any impacts or jostles (bumps) onto the horizontal components can significantly compromise the structure’s load-bearing capacities.
Moreover, the goods stored within the racking structures could pose a risk of injury.
Pallets that are damaged or not properly secured, as well as items improperly placed on a pallet, could tumble from the racking structures and cause injury or damages.
This module will give you an understanding of the above.
Who is this module intended for?
This module is geared towards those engaged in the warehousing and storage of goods using steel racking structures.
The module is specifically relevant for individuals overseeing warehouse or storage facilities, Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operators, and staff within the warehousing environment at large.
The training aims to equip you with the knowledge to determine the appropriate and safe practises for working within and around steel racking structures.
