There are 3 types of inspections:

Immediate Inspection

This type of inspection can be conducted by the warehouse operators such as forklift truck operators, order pickers, cleaning staff etc.

Regular Inspections

Regular documented inspections of all racking structures should be undertaken by warehouse supervisors or safety officers at weekly intervals to identify, and act upon any damage.  This inspection should generally be carried out weekly, although the frequency may be varied to suit particular operation conditions.

Expert (Annual) Inspections

The third level of inspection is an annual inspection (the frequency depends on the risk assessment) of the rack carried out by a technical competent individual. Such an inspection will result in a documented report which will identify damages and will also provide guidance and comment on the other warehouse activities.
