All racking systems need load notice boards (LNB) to clarify their weight capacity.  If these notices aren’t displayed, there’s a risk of putting too much weight on the racking.  All MHE operators need to know how to read a LNB sign and follow the specified weight limits.

A typical LNB is split into four parts:

  • General safety instructions
  • Specific information that is relevant to the particular installation
  • Administrative information
  • Supplier’s contact details

Supplier requirements

The company supplying the racking system is obligated to give their customers the following:

  • Information about how to load the racking.
  • Drawings and specifications of the racking configuration.
  • There should also be a warning on these drawings that any changed from the specified design could compromise the safety of the racking structure.
  • If the racking is meant to be set up in various configurations, there should be structural drawings for each of these setups included.
