Key components of a racking structure includes;

Baseplate
A bearing plate is attached under the vertical upright of the racking structure, either with bolts or by welding. This is to help pass the weight and sideways (left to right and front to back) forces into the floor. It also helps to firmly connect the vertical upright frame of the racking structure to the floor.

Column (upright)
These are the vertical uprights that make up the upright frame. They mostly deal with compressive forces parallel to their length and are set up to securely connect the pallet beams.

Frame bracing
This is a set of brace members (horizontal and diagonal) that connect the two vertical columns. They help keep the vertical frame stable in the cross-aisle direction.
Frame
This is the vertical structure made up from the columns and frame bracing. It holds the weight of the loads carried by the pallet beams and the equipment used on them.

Pallet Beam
These horizontal members securely lock into the vertical upright frame using special connectors for pallet beams. They are designed to support vertical loads and resist horizontal loads.

Pallet beam safety pin
It’s a locking device that’s attached to the pallet beam connector to stop the pallet beam from dislodgement (coming loose) from the vertical frame when subjected to upward forces.
